We still visit the new one every time we're on the island, about every 6 months. We now found the Luquins in Hilo. Large enough for our family of 10, good food and nice atmosphere. This is a Sonoran style Mexican restaurant, so it includes lots of cheese and the salsa are notably ask prepared fresh and, from what I sampled, quite authentically. It reminded me a lot of the little mom and pop shops you might run into in south tucson. The prices are pretty par for the course here in hawaii. So expect to pay 16-20 per plate (as of mar 2025). The food was delicious, I had the enchiladas and cleaned my plate. My wife had the flauta. It was bigger than i expected and super cheesy. All around a great experience. I'll be heading back for sure! ”
